Welcome 4th graders!!!

Hello New 403 Students!!

I am very excited to be your 4th grade teacher!! We have such an exciting year planned. This is just one of the few new learning tools that you will be working on. This is called a web log or a blog. A blog is an excellent way for you to communicate with your classmates and myself while in school or at home.

This year you will be given different assignments, either to post which means write your own blog; or to comment on someone elses blog, which means to tell them what YOU think.

There are many rules that we must follow in blogging but we will list them together in class and post them later. However, there is ONE very important rule, do not leave our blog. This means do not click to see the next blog.

I am sure that you are going to have many questions about this new tool, so your first task is to ASK:

1. Click on comments under this blog.
2. Type in your questions or comments.
3. Type your name at the bottom.
4. Select other as your identity.
5. Click on publish your comment.

Another thing we will be working on this year is podcasting. A podcast is almost like having your own radio talkshow for your classmates to hear. We will be using it for different things like storytelling, character interviews, and other exciting activities.

I have decided to give you a taste of a podcast as well as a chapter of a favorite book that I will be reading to you this year. Listen and enjoy.
